Actress and environmentalist Brooke Shields happily hosted the debut of designer Kimberly McDonald’s newest jewelry collection, Turtle. An avid animal-lover, Shields is excited to act as ambassador for the collection, which was created to bring awareness to the plight of the sea turtle, an endangered species of the marine world.

Joining McDonald and Shields at the Hollywood debut were a number of Hollywood stars eager to sport the glamorous pieces and participate in the philanthropic festivities. Among the snazzy crowd were a bevy of lovely ladies, including actresses Julie Newmar (Catwoman on TV’s Batman) and Lynn Collins, who recently starred alongside Hugh Jackman in X-Men Origins: Wolverine; The Fast and the Furious beauty Jordana Brewster; TV personality Maria Menounos; and enterprising socialite Jamie Tisch.

To be sure, this was not a ladies-only night. Out and about to mingle among the sparkling jewelry were also pop-culture icon Patrick McDonald and actor/fashion model Steven Strait.

Like McDonald’s previous collection released last winter, Ursus Maritimus, proceeds from the sale of Turtle jewelry will help fund and raise awareness of efforts to preserve the environment and protect the sea turtle, as a cooperative effort with Conservation International. The collection features agates, geodes, quartz, and diamonds. Each piece is handmade and unique and will retail between $3,500 and $30,000.
