An Open Case

Two recent show openings in town left lasting impressions on audiences.

Comedy impressionist Gordie Brown had his official opening at the Golden Nugget, and his performance was right on the money, as usual. In the audience were entertainer Clint Holmes and his wife Kelly Clinton, female impersonator Frank Marino, and comedian Steve Rossi (formerly of Allen and Rossi), who will be starring in a show on Broadway with three other entertainers. Also in the audience was Joe Esposito, Elvis’ manager and close friend for 17 years. Brown delighted the enthusiastic crowd with a whole range of hilarious impressions, from contemporary recording artists and actors to presidents and singers from the golden age of Las Vegas.

Ventriloquist/impressionist Terry Fator’s opening at the Mirage was a truly fun-filled evening. Among the celebrities in attendance were actor Kevin Sorbo (Hercules; Andromeda), who recently moved from Las Vegas back to Los Angeles, and Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk). In a hilarious bit, Fator pulled Ferrigno up on stage and turned him into a human puppet.
